At this time, we happily accept unsolicited article and photo submissions, as well as book reviews.  If would like to submit work that you think is oh so fab and should appear in Pet Home Magazine - feel free to send up to three submissions of each.

Online Magazine Article and Book Review Submissions - Until the actual magazine is published and on the market in 2008, we are filling up the Pet Home website with full content as an online publication. For article and book review submissions to the website, you may submit your article or review in the body of your email. We will not accept any unsolicited attachments such as photos and emails with attachments will be immediately deleted. Apart from your article, please also include in the body of your email, all contact information, a bio and prior experience (if any - but not required).  If we decide to publish your work, we will request for you to email all relevant photos. Again - do not attach anything with your article submission, as it will be deleted.

Printed Magazine Article Submissions:

We are not responsible for materials sent to us. Do not send original photos or any other material that is irreplaceable if lost. We also do accept previously published work but you must provide name of publication(s), publish dates and proof of release from publisher to re-publish again.

You will receive notice by email or phone within 90 days of submission if the decision has been made to publish your work. Please do not contact us to check the status of your submission. To ensure that we are easily able to contact you, please provide a valid email address/phone number. If we are unable to contact you - your submission will not be published.

Non-fiction informative articles pertaining to the theme of the magazine - look at our website links to make sure your article is appropriate for Pet Home before you spend your time on a submission. If you are not a known expert, informational sources for fact checking may be requested.

How-to Tips - such as pet friendly gardening, pet related crafts, holiday fun, to pet friendly decor and health care.

Recipes - full meals or treats - animal related only or for both human and pet consumption

Poetry - original work only

Memoirs - about your life with pets

Cartoons - animal related only

Jokes - animal related only

Adoption and rescue stories

Hero Award Nominations - This applies to animals who help people and people who help animals. Do not include photo unless you send on disk via U.S. Mail.
 

Compensation:

Because this is a new publication and because net proceeds of it go to save animals, at this time, no compensation is offered for submissions. However, if your work is selected, not only is it great exposure for you in whatever you do - but you're helping to save a life with your contribution. Consider it a "soul payment".
